Smashing Pictures is a Toronto-based production company that specializes in creating highly successful, offbeat original television series for broadcast and cable networks.
In 2001 Linda McEwan founded Smashing Pictures and is the creator, director and producer of the hit television series Real Renos, The Big Flip and The Really Big Flip. Smashing Pictures also produced the off-the-wall decorating show Great Taste No Money. Most recently she created, directed and produced Bargain Brothers, a brand new series set to air on BNN
in fall 2014.
Linda is an award-winning producer and Gemini-nominated director with an extensive background in the broadcasting industry. Her early career was mainly with the CBC, both behind the scenes as a producer for The Journal and Life: The Program; and in front of the camera as a producer/reporter on The Health Show, and as a reporter for news shows in Winnipeg and Halifax. She also created several pilots for CVC Newsworld. After the CBC, she worked as a producer at CTV’s W5 and as a director for Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, Channel 4 Australia, and many independent projects.
Linda is joined in the business by her husband Duncan McEwan, who also has an extensive television background; Tim Deacon, president of Smashing Animation; and a team of wise and wonderful partners and collaborators.
